Halloween was fun this year. My boyfriend had his little 2 1/2 year old for the holiday. We asked her what should would like to dress up as and without missing a beat she replied "a princess". I asked her if she would rather be a regular princess of a fairy princess like Tinkerbell. She got all sorts of excited, so fairy princess it was.
We took her to my parents neighborhood to go trick-or-treating. To make sure she didn't have a problem with dressing up the boyfriend and I dressed up with her. He was a depression era/ steampunk kind of look for a newsboy, and I was all steam punked out. Not really sure what I was. I had a gun, goggles, and a wilder topper for a hat.
The little one has a great time. She got the trick-or-treating thing down really quick. We even had her ringing doorbells. At one house she demanded that momma needed candy too. (that would be me)
Another house was decorated with spooky lights and cobwebs and she freaked out and wouldn't even go up the driveway to the front door. The lady was nice about it and sent one of her kids down to the sidewalk to give the little one candy anyways. All day Tuesday and Wednesday she kept asking me if we were going to go trick-or-treating again. I finally got her to understand that it is something you do only once a year.
The strange weather here in South Dakota has been screwing with my Fibromyalgia a little. I've been really careful to make sure to take all my medications as needed. In the mornings I've been waking up so stiff that I can't sit up in bed and this morning had to literally "roll" out of bed. Seems that the medication and a hot shower in the morning set me right.
Today was one of thos strange days at work were everything just seems off.
I started to get heartburn from my breakfast and went to take an ant-acid and in the process realized that someone had stolen my Fibromyalgia medication from my desk. Usually I take it about 8pm while I'm still at work. Tonite I had to wait till I got home. As a result I've got half numb feet.
All sorts of strange calls today. Had a customer ask where on the box she should put a return shipping label. had a gal who called in to order 4 new remote controls because her boyfriend left her and those were the only things he took. (Really. It's like he thought that making her get up to change the channel was going to make her life a living hell.)
Also had a few customers that got upgraded tv reciever boxes, but the represenative that placed the order some how didn't realize they needed a satellite dish upgrade to go with them.
Sometimes I wonder how stupid people survive in this economy. Let alone in every day life.
When I was younger this lady lived up the street from us who was a super clean freak. Some car had leaked oil in the middle of the street in front of her house. She actually got a bucket of soapy water and tried to remove it and almost got ran over.
Like I said sometimes you just wonder.
On a different note I get paid tomorrow. After going and paying rent I hope that come my next days off I will be able to afford to go buy some of the remaining art supplies I need for my little steam punk shadow boxes I want to put together. I hope that I can get everything I need and be ready by Christmas time so I can give some of them away a gifts. We shall see.
I don't have anything extremely heart warming, or funny to share today, but as always I do have a moral.
Never underestimate how stupid people can be.
My Halloween costume.
Okay. So i lied about funny stuff. Here you go :)
